It may be a bit late to do in the areas that are currently opened, but I think it would be cool if the Aralex lower level mechanics were mixed with Kelestians. Maybe in a deeper area, but perhaps each square has a certain number of soldiers that you need to kill before breaking the ranks and pushing through to a deeper area?
At the end, maybe have a skilled Kelestian Ravager/General/Decurion/Achilles/whatever to beat.
Personally, I feel that that would give more of a sense of progression and purpose than just mindlessly killing Kelestians and whether you kill 20 or 20,000 it really doesn't change much.
