2024 Quarterly Changes Rollup

A returning player was wondering about changes over past few months (there's been a lot, Kudos to GMs) and didn't want to rely on ooc or discord to figure them out. I try to grab most of them when I see them on ooc and put them on discord. Here's what I've got:

  • New GMs: Imperium and Nocturnum have joined the staff.
    • GM Imperium, who will be mainly focused on Customer Support and requests.
    • GM Nocturnum, who will also be fulfilling requests and helping with general game administration.
  • Selftrain Trait: From Pranzor "When self-training using the self-taught trait, normally the multiplier is 1.5 times the cost of the move you are training. Without the self-taught trait, the multiplier would be 2 times the cost of the move you are training. With the new changes, I have outlined the new multipliers below. This only affects levels trained over 2000 ranks in a single skill. In addition to this, users can no longer teach another user above the rank of 1150 in any skill or action. This should open up the opportunity for higher-ranked trainers, as well as provide some balance in both the PvE and PvP realms. Users will also still have the opportunity to place a priority on working on sub-skills as opposed to just cranking basics. This change stems from the old issue of folks just taking their basic ranks to exorbitant levels (5-10k ranks) as an easy button to have a significant advantage over others."
    • With Self-Taught
      • 1000-2000 = 1.5
      • 2001-3000 = 3.5
      • 3001-4000 = 5.5
      • 4001-5000 = 7.5
      • 5001-7000 = 9.5
      • 7001 and greater = 11.5
    • Without Self-Taught
      • 1000-2000 = 2
      • 2001-3000 = 4
      • 3001-4000 = 6
      • 4001-5000 = 8
      • 5001-7000 = 10
      • 7001 and greater = 12
  • Rare Metal BuyerIgnius has hired a new worker to help with the precious metal demand. The new guy's name is Raftio. If you need repairs, Ignius is your man. If you are selling items, Raftio is your man. Rare metal repairs are now a quarter of the cost they previously were.
  • Retalq, Alanti, Boison changes:
    • Retalq has been given a significant critical hit bump over other metals.
    • Retalq variations of weapons are always better than their reforged alanti counterparts.
    • Changes to boison weapons to ensure that they are more damaging than retalq, though they slower.
    • Knifers should notice a significant change to the boison dagger, but it is still slower than the retalq.
  • Various weight changes:
    • Backpacks, sacks, and satchels have had their weight localized to allow greater variety of fashion forward options
    • A pair of thigh greaves and two single thigh greaves now weight the same

      • Usually the 'classic' trainers are the lower. i.e. Leda, Gilven and the higher are the more out of reach trainers.
      • Not all trainers were updated. See wiki.

    • Command: @cycle - Displays useful SP info for the cycle and previous cycle.
